WTO says world trade growth slows in third quarter

The French newspaper Le Figaro reported on December 2 that the World Trade Organization pointed out on December 1 that the growth rate of world trade in the third quarter showed signs of slowing down compared with the rapid growth in the second quarter. World trade in the third quarter increased by 18% year-on-year., World trade increased by 26% in the second quarter. However, the World Trade Organization still maintains its outlook for world trade growth of 13.5 per cent for the whole of 2010.

The World Trade Organization pointed out that emerging countries are still driving the growth of world trade. The strongest trade growth in the third quarter was in Brazil, up 33%, and China, up 32%. Special mention should be made of Japan's trade growth of 28 per cent.
