Forest parks see 2 mln visitors during Spring Festival

According to the latest statistics released by the Dongguan Forestry Bureau, about 2 million people have visited the city’s six large forest parks during the Spring Festival holiday (Feb.2-Feb.9), an increase of 0.8 million over last year.
Forest parks have seen a surge of visitors because of the sunny weather. On the eve of the Spring Festival, the six forest parks received about 270,000 visitors, about 500,000 visitors on the first day of Spring Festival, 230,000 visitors on the second day, 310,000 on the third day, 220,000 on the fourth day, 180,000 on the fifth, 160,000 on the sixth, and about 130,000 on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year.
As far as the statistics revealed yesterday shows, the number of visitors to Qifeng Park was far more popular as festivity destination. The long history of Huangqi Mountain and the ancient temple on it attracted 910,000 visitors to worship traditional values and systems. The convenient downtown location and convenient traffic control are two reasons suggested as to why Qifeng Park is so popular according to an official from Dongguan Forestry Bureau.
Official figures were respectively 350,000 visitors for Mt.Daling Forest Park; about 70,000 for Tongsha Ecological Park; over 200,000 for Yinpingshan Forest Park, Shuilianshan Forest Park and Dapingzhang Forest Park.
